FAQs for Wedding Cakes
1. Where do I start? We recommend that you collect pictures from magazines, websites, and from other weddings you’ve attended. Pick out the details of the cakes that you like in each picture and either email them to sweetcake@theyellowbowl.com and bring them with you during your tasting meeting.
2. What’s a tasting meeting? You and one guest are able to attend a meeting to taste 3 different flavors of cake. If you have more than 1 guest, each additional guest will be $10. If you wish to taste more than 3 flavors, each additional will be $3.50. At this meeting we suggest that you bring as much information as possible that includes pictures of cakes you like, photos of your dress, color swatches, and anything else that will help us to design the cake of your dreams. You will also have a chance to bring your pictures as well as ideas or invites to life! We will discuss the layout of the cake, flavor, and size of your wedding. All details can be updated as your wedding date gets closer. However, any adjustments to the price will require a new signed contract with all parties involved.
3. How much will it cost? Each wedding cake depends on the number of guests you have planned to attend your wedding as well as the amount of custom detailing. The prices start at $2.75 per person for butter cream and $3.00 per person for a rolled frosting or fondant. The final price will be determined during your tasting meeting. The location of your wedding as well as any other special details about your delivery will need to be discussed during the meeting. Depending on the distance, the delivery charges may be assessed to include mileage. Down payment for your wedding cake will need to be paid once the contract is signed. All parties involved in the payment, and the bride and groom must sign the contract.
4. Can you work with people on a budget? Yes—we will work with anyone who needs to stay within a specific price range. We will try our best to help but we can’t always accommodate everyone. Call us & set up a time to discuss your thoughts.
5. What are the flavors I can choose from? All the flavors of our cakes are listed on the website under the gourmet cupcakes flavors, but please note, we can try to accommodate any flavor not listed. If you have a special flavor you are looking for, just let us know!
6. Can I do a cake with fillings? Yes! All cakes can have fillings from chocolate to fruit fillings, or whatever tickles your fancy or your taste buds.
